{52 week challenge} week 6: lips

I'm not sure that there is anything cuter than a baby's lips while they are sleeping. They smile, pout, and dream of eating all within minutes...so sweet.

{52 week challenge} week 6-9

For February (the month of love) focus on those you love. Remember to take pictures of the little day to day things as well. You don't have to only document the big events in your life. Capture your children playing a board game together, your spouse reading with your toddler, or the way your kids interact with your pets. Ten years down the road you will be glad that you got that priceless shot of you and your kids in your pajamas...even if your hair wasn't done and your makeup wasn't just right.

(2/5-2/11) week 6: lips

(2/12-2/18) week 7: kiss

(2/19-2/25) week 8: dreams

(2/26-3/3) week 9: leap

Have fun! I'll be posting my shots soon.

{52 week challenge} week 5 - Food

This post will be short (well somewhat). Have you heard of Pinterest? Who hasn't right? Well in my early days of planning for J's birthday I came across LOTS (like lots!) of food ideas for his Dr. Seuss party and most of them came from Pinterest. And while in typical "me" fashion I wasn't able to finish all of them in time, I was able to do these...

and the only mistake I made was not making near enough. They were gone in like 10 seconds! I've already made plans to make them for Dr. Seuss' birthday and have the boys take them to school.

{52 week challenge} week 4 - I love

I could've gone in many directions with a topic like "I love"...here's what I could've shot: my husband, my awesome boys (any of the 5 of them!!!), my pets, my friends, anything teal, my new SUV, my camera, my computer, shoes, chocolate, peanut butter...chocolate AND peanut butter...I could go on and on. But my week was very busy with putting the final touches on J's 2nd birthday party. Thus leading to my shot for the week. I LOVE throwing birthday parties for my boys...like a lot! This year I went with a Dr. Seuss theme. Why? Well everything Seuss is colorful and I miss teaching (but wouldn't trade it for being able to stay home with my babies), so what a better way than to draw out the teacher in me by throwing a Seuss party. I'm hoping to get more pictures of from our great day, but until then here's the "Dr. Seuss" ribbon wreath I made (another one of my LOVES....crafting) along with Seuss books and a "Go Dog Go" on all display. Wait until you see the week 5 Food pic!

{52 week challenge-attempt 2} week 3: Journey

I'll keep is short and simple. My "journey" this year is more like a resolution. I want to run more. In 2010, I ran my first 5k in the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer run. To say it was life changing would be a gross understatement. It was motivating, inspirational and just plain awesome!

So if you need me on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings-I'll be sportin' my running shoes and will be hanging with a great group of Stroller Strides mommas and babies.

And a couple old shots from my '10 Komen 5k.

And because I couldn't help myself but to throw in a little "Journey" plug here it is!

Week 3, 4, and 5 themes

I have been so busy lately that my computer and laptop are both feeling a little bit neglected-while my iphone is feeling over-worked and tired. I will try my hardest to post the themes BEOFRE the week for that theme is over...that would make sense wouldn't it?!?

(1/15-1/21)Week 3-Journey

(1/22-1/28) Week 4-I Love

(1/29-2/4) Week 5-Food

Remember, you do not have to go with my themes. The idea of the 52 week challenge is to challenge yourself to use your camera more. I'm using this year to really document me, my family and things that mean something to me.

I'll be posting my shots in the next couple of days.

{52 week challenge} week 2-b/w

Yes, it's only January and I'm already behind in posting my pic of the week. I have been taking them though, I just need to get better about posting them every week. Week 2's theme was black/white. I could've been a picture of something black and white or a shot that you change to black and white.

My shot was taken at one of my families favorite places- Disneyland! We have been fortunate and have had passes for going on 9 years now. To say we love it there, would be a gross understatement. We say that we have passes for the fun for our kids, but in actuality they are for us just as much. I captured this shot while walking the newest Livingston baby in the stroller in attempt to keep him sleeping longer.

{52 week challenge-attempt 2} week 1: The real Self Portrait

Yes, I know I cheated! Here's the real portrait of me!

{52 week challenge-attempt 2} week 1: Self Portrait

Hi! I'm very excited to share my new journey for 2012. It's a 52 week project where I'll have 52 different themes and each week I'll focus on those different themes to stretch my creativity and keep me actively engaged in my love for photography!

Week 1's theme is self portrait. As a photographer, I know that I am often the one behind the camera (much more fun) and am very seldom the one in the pictures. For this project I decided to take a different approach. Here's it is:

a little about my "self" portrait: I was trying to come up with a way to avoid taking my picture before I've showered and gotten out of my pj's. This is just a little look into my life. For those that know me well, you know that I go NOWHERE without my iphone and my sunglasses. Having 2 little ones in diapers, I feel like I'm constantly changing or chasing down someone to get changed!  My current book: "The Help"...LOVE it. I haven't read in a long time, unless magazines count. I'm hoping to keep my New Year's resolution to read more. I'm also browsing "The Happiest Baby on the Block", because we all want happy babies, right?!? I included my Rangefinder magazine for photography inspiration and info and my Martha Living magazine, because I wish I could be more like Martha (minus the tax fraud and time in jail). My planner, because even though I have a "smart" phone with a built in calendar I still find the need to write it all down. Lastly, in the shot is my picture frame with fabric and cork in it (for pinning important notes)-it serves as a reminder that I want to do something "crafty" every week.

Okay...I know I kinda cheated, I'll post a traditional self portrait later...after I shower and look more human!
